Healthcare Connect supports numerous charities throughout the year. Local charities are chosen to be featured on our multi faceted community platform. The goal is to bring additional exposure through our website, social media, print media and events. Healthcare Connect assists these organizations in leveraging that exposure into raising awareness and money.
Through these diverse platforms the selected charities have the opportunity to promote their upcoming walks, runs, fundraisers, and provide Healthcare Connect members with additional information on how they can volunteer and contribute.

Alzheimer's Care Center
Alzheimer’s disease is an irreversible, progressive brain disorder that occurs gradually and results in memory loss, changes in behavior and personality, a decline in thinking abilities and eventually, death. More than five million people in the United States alone currently suffer with Alzheimer’s disease. On average, an Alzheimer's disease patient lives 8 to 10 years after they are diagnosed. Some patients live with the disease for as long as 20 years.
The caregivers of patients experience their own stages of the disease (Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance). Understanding the dynamics of the disease process and obtaining sound advice is imperative for ensuring a quality of life for both patients and caregivers.
Alzheimer's Community Care has developed a proven model of care to combat the difficult effects of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Alzheimer's Community Care provides Specialized Alzheimer's Day Care Centers, Family Nurse Consultants, Education and Training, 24-Hour Crisis Line, Caregiver Support Groups, Case Management, and Disaster Preparedness. Our unique organization is dedicated to being the ultimate service and resource provider to people struggling with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. Our innovative model of care provides services and resources that are accessible, affordable and individualized. We are committed to preserving the dignity of our patients and caregivers within a community-based environment.
Caridad Center
Caridad Center operates free medical and dental clinics that provide vital health services to the uninsured, working poor families of Palm Beach County. We have 350+ dedicated volunteers.
Below are some important facts:
• Total number of patient visits - 24,400
• Our services are saving millions of dollars in uncompensated hospital care for Palm Beach County taxpayers by reducing the number of patients who use emergency room services.
• Between 50 and 75 new persons apply for services each week.
• Caridad offers homework assistance, college scholarships, holiday programs and emergency assistance for patients in financial crisis.
• $.87 of every dollar we raise goes directly to our services and programs.
