Clinics Can Help

Clinics Can Help (CCH) was founded as a not for profit in 2005 by local leaders in healthcare who saw a need to ensure that all people in Palm Beach County who are in need of medical equipment would be able to get it. Having quality medical equipment is a critical part of quality medical care and there are many people in our county who need wheelchairs, hospital beds and wound care supplies, but either cannot afford it or do not have the insurance to cover it. No one should have to fear for their safety, recovery or independence when their so mush medical equipment in surplus in Palm Beach County.

In 2011 alone, CCH helped over 600 residents of our county by donating 276 wheelchairs, 402 walkers, 94 oxygen concentrators, 81 hospital beds, and over 100 Pac n Play Cribs. People in need of medical equipment or who want to donate medical equipment can come to Clinics Can Help’s office and warehouse in West Palm Beach, which is open from 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday.

Alzheimer's Association

The Alzheimer’s Association’s mission is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

Currently there are more than 5 million people with Alzheimer’s disease in the United States and 35 million worldwide. These numbers are expected to skyrocket to as many as 16 million and 115 million people respectively by mid- century. The potential of earlier diagnosis and the development of better treatments will significantly change the experience of Alzheimer’s for millions of people. These factors will provide unprecedented challenges and opportunities to the Association over the coming years.

The Southeast Florida Chapter advances efforts for researching a cure through fundraising through events like Walk to End Alzheimer’s™ and provides support and educational services to more than 200,000 persons with Alzheimer's disease and their families and caregivers in Broward, Palm Beach, Miami-Dade, Martin, Monroe, St. Lucie and Okeechobee counties.  It offers a 24-hour HELPLINE (800) 272-3900, support groups, Trial Match™, the Medic Alert® + Alzheimer’s Association Safe Return® identification bracelet program, Comfort Zone®, community education, law enforcement training and an advocate to educate Congress on critical Alzheimer policy issues and work to increase federal funding for research and care programs.
